POSITION SUMMARY:

A Community Living DSP assists with the day-to-day activities in home programs. The Community Living DSP will be responsible for client safety, cooking for clients, and taking clients into the community.
Living DSP will ensure that all paperwork is completed and signed correctly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TRAINING

• Assist in completing and maintaining all required state mandated trainings and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Buckeye Person Services (BPS) training, as mandated.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required by DODD and BPS trainings as mandated.
• Completes annual training sessions as required by DODD and BPS.

DAILY PROGRAMMING

• Keep Supervisor and Lead DSP informed of pertinent issues.
• Assists Supervisor and Lead DSP in implementing individual plans, (IP, Behavioral, etc.).
• Works all assigned schedules, including but not limited to arriving and departing on time, requesting time off in advance and notifying the Supervisor / Team Lead of changes to any and all work schedules.

• Ensures each individual’s rights are protected.
• Treats individuals with dignity and respect.
• Ability to fill in if there are gaps in staffing when / as needed.
• Assists Supervisor / Team Lead in all areas of need and responsibility.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

18 Years of Age or Older
HS Diploma or GED
Clean Criminal Background Check
Valid Ohio’s Driver’s License with 4 points or less
Proof of Car Insurance
Ability to work holidays and during inclement weather.
A minimum of one-year experience in the DD field is preferred
