Directs the day-to-day functions of assigned site/unit in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to its patients at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Must possess a WV NHA license.

2. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or other related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1. 5 years of related experience, with at least 3 years management experience as a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA), required

2. Knowledge and experience with state and federal long-term care regulations.

3. Intricate knowledge of Medicare rules and reimbursement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or other related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Previous nursing home experience preferred.

2. Knowledge and/or experience of all Medicare, hospital based, skilled nursing facility preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the facility’s programs and activities.

2. Assures quality patient care is provided consistently with hospital policies; ensures that the facility meets hospital standards as well as the standards of accreditation established by licensing and certification agencies.

3. Develops and is accountable for Key Result Areas, annual objectives, and specific KRA’s for case management/discharge planning.

4. Responsible for review and plans of action for all complaints and concerns.

5. Assures Department Head compliance with all rules and regulations.

6. Serves as a liaison to the Medical Director.

7. Responsible for writing plans of correction for any deficiencies from State surveys

8. Assists the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plan of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.

9. Adheres to United Hospital Center and department policies and procedures.

10. Develops the operating budget and capital budget.

11. FMC promotes an attitude of compliance and has established a culture that fosters the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of misconduct. In furtherance thereof, cooperates with corporate compliance program.

12. Uses hospital communication system (fax, beeper, telephone, duplicating equipment, pneumatic tube system and computer) in accordance with hospital standards.

13. Demonstrates knowledge of the procedures to utilizes Complaint Management/Lost Items policy/procedure as a tool to address customer satisfaction.

14. Delegate administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to other staff personnel as deemed necessary in accordance with current regulations mandating such documentation.

2. Ability to use computer systems and have knowledge of PC.

3. Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
