Director of Institutional Effectiveness
Job description
Hampden-Sydney College invites applications for the position of Director of Institutional Effectiveness for appointment to begin immediately. Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty, the Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for a comprehensive institutional research program and steers an assessment program for academic departments and programs, administrative departments, and the Colleges curriculum. This includes systematic collection and evaluation of longitudinal data related to the College's long-range plan, as well as compilation of data for the Colleges certificate of compliance for all standards of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Creating, submitting, and updating institutional reporting documents (Common Data Set (CDS), Departmental Annual Reports, Fact Book, IPEDS, and institutional dashboards).
- Serving as the institutional IPEDS keyholder and ensuring institutional compliance with federal and accreditation requirements.
- Assuring and documenting that the College meets all criteria for accreditation.
- Performing analyses of student academic performance and assuring that data are up to date and available to academic departments and administrative offices.
Qualifications: Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred. Three years experience in institutional research, planning, and higher education. Must have an extensive knowledge of current practices and literature related to institutional research and assessment. Mastery of word processing, data management, presentation methods, and statistical analysis software. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and to work effectively with a variety of people within and outside the College. Experience with Jenzabar a plus but not required.
