The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
Job Summary:
The Director of Logistics will provide strategic direction and management of Delek’s logistics/rail functions in support of business and corporate objectives. Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products. Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels. Administers an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of raw materials, component parts and/or finished goods.
Description and Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with Leadership team to stay ahead of trends in and around the industry. Focus on opportunities for the company to continue to improve and accelerate its competitive position
- Develop new logistics service opportunities, and manage / develop rail logistics procedures
- Negotiate freight rates and terms with carriers
- Negotiate and manage leased rail car fleet
- Manage owned rail car fleet, including maintenance and inspections
- Ensure efficient use of rail fleet, providing analytics on key KPI’s and suggestions for improving performance
- Support commercial group to achieve sales goals
- Develop monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts based on inputs from business units, operation sites, demand planning, finance, etc.
- Provide analysis and reporting to senior leadership.
- Drive the communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work groups.
- Timely solve logistics issues and address problems that arise from operations
- Work to reduce charges for delays in rail shipments, improper shipments, routing, etc.
Requirements:
- MBA preferred, Bachelor required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Leadership roles related to Logistics Management (Rail)
- Strong decision making capability
- Hands on Leadership with ‘Doer’ attitude
- Attention to detail
- Excellent writing, communication, analytical and negotiation skills
- Self-Starter
