POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction of the clinical and operational performance of the Sherman Oaks branch. The position establishes, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services to meet and promote standards of quality; the agency’s philosophy and that contribute to the organization as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Is currently a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of California; BSN preferred.

● Has at least three (3) years of experience in a home health organization, primary care clinic or a health facility, at least one of which in a supervisory capacity.

● Has excellent judgment and knowledge of current nursing practices, with demonstrated exemplary clinical, analytical and documentation skills.

● Must be familiar with Medicare, Medi-Cal and other third-party payer guidelines and regulations.

● Is fluent in English.

● Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.

● Current CPR Certification.

● Current and satisfactory report on pre-employment physical examination including Mantoux TB Test or chest X-ray as required by Agency policies and procedures.

● Able to walk, bend, stoop, and lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

● Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a representation of the major duties and responsibilities of this position. The Agency will make reasonable accommodations to allow otherwise qualified applicants with disabilities to perform essential functions. The following duties may be performed directly or delegated by the Director of Nursing of the Sherman Oaks branch.

● Oversees and manages clinical operations and all patient services provided by agency personnel under the DOPCS in coordination with the Clinical Executive Director

● Provides guidance and counseling of the Clinical department to assist in continually improving all aspects of home health care services.

● Serves as counsel for evaluating and recommending changes to patient care plans.

● Assists the Agency with compliance of federal and state regulations, JCAHO Standards and ACHC standards.

● Participates in Performance Improvement activities including but not limited to clinical record review, quality indicator monitoring, quality management committee, and continuing education for all personnel.

● Evaluates performance of the Clinical Supervisor(s) and other personnel including supervisory visits. Assists the Clinical Supervisor in the development of their skills and techniques in evaluating and disciplining staff.

● Oversees the maintenance of patient clinical records, statistics, and reports for purposes of evaluating Agency activities, in the Clinical Departments.

● Oversees the collection, evaluation, encoding and transmission of the Outcomes Assessment Information Set developed and required by CMS.

● Shares in the hiring and orientation processes. Assesses in the evaluation of the Agency’s orientation program and participates in the training and competency evaluation of new clinical personnel.

● Assists the Agency in maintaining liaison with other health care providers and professionals by attending meetings and community activities, as needed.

● Participates as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee, contributing to the Agency on professional issues, assisting in the evaluation of the Agency’s programs/services and assisting in reviewing of patient care policies and procedures.

● Is the Clinical Executive Directors/Administrator’s direct link to the clinical operations informing him/her of all issues and or grievances as necessary.

● Assists the Clinical Executive Director/Administrator in the preparation and administration of the Agency's budget, as it relates to clinical operations.

● Participates in and oversees billing practices.

● Assists in the investigation of all accident/exposure incidents related to clinical operations.

● Attends staff meetings, team conferences, workshops, and is on 24 hour on-call schedules as needed.

● Performs visits/admissions as the need arises.

● Performs as the Clinical Executive Director, in the absence of Clinical Executive Director.

● Must ensure that QAPI metrics for each branch are met, responsible for managing key performance/improvement metrics.

● Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
