BestNest currently accepting resumes for a Director of Nursing Services (DON / DNS) position in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in the greater San Fernando Valley area. The Director of Nursing needs to possess the leadership ability to manage the Skilled Nursing department, while ensuring the best possible care and services for the residents. We need a seasoned DON who is familiar with restructure and Joint Commission.
Key responsibilities include teaching, mentoring and developing the nursing team, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal regulations. Must have a demonstrated history of good survey results, good tenure, a hospitality mindset, as well as a customer service focused approach to care. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of CA with a current license, and have at least 3 years of experience working with the geriatric population as a DON, ADON, or Unit Manager. Previous Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred.
Required experience:
2 years as a supervisor or manager in a geriatric setting, preferably as a DON or ADON in a Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing setting.
Required education, license or certification: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Registered Nurse for the State of CA required.
