Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Site GM, the Operations Leader manages CAZ plant operations. The Operations Leader provides leadership through the operations group and directs the operation of the facility. The Leader sets goals, monitors work and evaluates results to ensure the plant organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and strategy of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Promote operational excellence through utilization of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and six sigma principles.
- Evaluate processes for potential changes/improvements.
- Leadership role model in terms of embodying call Chromalloy Values defining behaviors.
- Review and approve plans for the control of plant output, budget spending and labor efficiency.
- Review performance against operating plans and standards. Provide reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in the direction of the plant.

- Defines short term and long-term plans, programs and goals along with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
- Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower and facilities estimate.
- Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the corporation in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.
- Reviews and approves the setting of budgets within the unit.
- Reviews and approves and secures corporate approval for major projects and functional changes within the region
- Reviews and approves the implementation of manufacturing and organizational plans that support the operations master plan.
- Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance of plant activities.
- Issues specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives of the operating management.
- Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly.
- Identifies training needs, initiatives and developmental plans.
- Reviews and approves personnel actions.
- Keeps employees informed as to the company plans and progress.
- Coordinates activities of assigned units with those other company units. Seeks mutual agreement on problems involving coordination.
- Consults with all segments of management responsibility for policy action. Ensures compliance with area of responsibility
- Reviews and endorses or revises budget proposals received from direct reports. Submits budget in accordance with budget procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S., Engineering or Business Discipline or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in engineering or business or qualifying experience.
- Minimum eight (8) years managing aerospace operations.
- Supervisory responsibilities: Subordinate supervisor and/or employee classification(s): Business unit leaders, production supervisors, engineering support, production employees and maintenance personnel.
- A demonstrated track record in making sound business decisions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, engineers, and co-workers.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Technical background related to overhaul and repair of turbine engines.
