Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of musical instruments and pro audio gear is seeking a seasoned leader with a proven track-record of success to join our team as a Director of Operations in our new Distribution Center located in Glendale, Arizona. Our ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience with a nationally recognized retailer leading operations teams within a 500+ person distribution center. In this role you will be leading and building teams for Inbound and Outbound DC operations. Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable for all day-to-day activities in the AZ Distribution Center including Inbound, Outbound and Inventory operations
• Overseeing of short-term and long-term operational objectives for Sweetwater’s AZ Distribution Center
• Accountable for a team of 200+ (and growing) employees including Senior Managers, Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders and operational DC employees across all shifts
• Responsible for the timely and accurate shipping of ~$400M of music instruments and gear to customers across the United States (primarily West Coast)
• Leads a large team of supply chain, logistics, receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and inventory professionals
• Accountable for the safety of DC employees
• Accountable for OSHA compliance
• Ensuring the delivery of world-class fulfillment
• Communicating with a wide variety of key stakeholders and functional groups including HR, Finance, Sales and Merchandising
• Developing and training employees
• Identifying and executing opportunities for improvement (service, safety, cost savings and reliability)
• Partners with HR and Finance to establish the site labor plan and develop mitigating actions when short to the plan
• Works to resolve operational issues across departments (eg DC, Sales, Merchandising) and multiple DC work areas (eg Receiving and Packing).
• Inspiring and motivating the team to perform at their best
• Measuring performance, providing feedback and holding the team accountable to Sweetwater standards
• Responsible for mentoring, coaching, growing and developing future leaders

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of operational leadership in a large distribution center (500+ employees)
• Warehouse (DC and/or FC) operations
• Working knowledge of WMS, problem-solving, process improvement, strategic thinking, leading teams and developing leaders
• Deep passion for process improvement, innovation, execution and customer service
• Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of functional groups and key stakeholders
• BS or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Warehousing or Operations
• Flexible to work 7 days/24 hours (including Holidays) based on business needs
