ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
  • Reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Oversees: Production Superintendents, Processing Manager, and Production General Foreman
  • Manage/Supervise the day-to-day operations of Production Operations, Processing Plant, and Blast and Paint Facility.
  • Participate in Strategic Planning with Executive Team- Set Direction for Manufacturing
  • Translate Strategic Plan into Tactical Goals and execute actions to support company goals
  • Manage/Supervise the day-to-day operations of Manufacturing and Material Processing
  • Manage departmental budgets, hiring and contracting, and business negotiations in alignment with overall strategic plan. Provide direction, accountability and coaching to ensure clear alignment of the company’s direction.
  • Analyze audit reports and formulate improvements to departmental workings
  • Identify and develop KPI/key metrics at the department level that allow accurate decisions to be made in support of tactical goals that roll up to support departments/Company Dashboards
  • Maintain constant awareness of new trends, skills and developments beneficial to the company.
  • Manage divisional budget in accordance with COO direction
  • Identify and develop KPI/key metrics at the division level that roll into department level goals - enabling accurate decisions to be made in support of tactical goals supporting Company Dashboards
  • Champion all efforts for quality and continuous improvement strategies, championing events that will produce greater efficiency and empower the workforce
  • Provide input to COO on division manpower plan verses forecast and provide input and recommendations regarding needed changes/growth/reduction to executive team as part of the Company Balanced Manpower Plan
  • Maintain a constant focus on the company’s culture through surveys, direct and indirect feedback methods and ensure immediate feedback. Review attrition monthly with the COO.
  • Serve as a role model with respect to the company values, vision and mission.
  • Ensuring that all firm activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing manufacturing and facility operations.
  • Provide a minimum of semi-annual feedback to direct reports and annually provide a formal performance evaluation.
PRODUCTION
  • Assess financial statements and activity reports to measure productivity and determine cost reduction areas.
  • Create and execute policies and programs to maximize capacity and ensure high quality and low costs.
  • Create production tracking and quality control systems and analyze production to determine problems and suggest processing and staffing changes.
  • Develop an adaptable organization to handle new technologies resulting from alliances from manufacturing and supply chain perspective.
  • Develop and provide suppliers with forecasts that achieve reasonable predictability of future customer requirements to enable suppliers to operate efficient production processes and enable informed procurement and production capacity decisions.
  • Enhance product lines gross margins through implementation of continuous improvement activities, monitoring throughput of activities on hourly basis and making recommended changes.
  • Implement manufacturing operations strategy in alignment with company plan and customer needs.
  • Lead manufacturing organization for establishing teamwork and morale and develop plans for manufacturing and plant staff.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, plans and practices regarding product supply/demand and delivery and authorizes the implementation of strategy and policies.
  • Leadership responsibility for the management of contract manufacturers (CMs), transportation partners (carriers) and 3rd party logistics providers (3PL) in the areas of manufacturing, logistics, warehouse management, inventory control and contract performance.
  • Oversees budgetary issues related specifically to manufacturing and production efforts.
  • Provide leadership in continuous improvement activities and successfully enable scalability to achieve our goals of meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
  • Provide technical direction to the company as needed.
  • Set up cost control standards, waste reduction and production processes to maximize goods manufacture.
  • Set up parameters for material usage, processing capacity, and welding efficiencies.
QULAIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience; Master's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a factory environment with fabrication, machining, and assembly-based processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership and/or management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS or advanced degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Welding Engineering/Welding Engineering Technology, Metallurgical/Materials Engineering, or related Engineering discipline. MBA highly desirable.
  • Prior experience leading a manufacturing process area or engineering group; demonstrated success in leading, collaborating and developing cross functional teams on complex technical projects.
  • Have a strong background in the development of heavy fabrication, machining, and assembly-based processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and help coordinate process improvement activities that reduce Assembly and Test time and increase throughput.
  • Experience with coordinating process improvement activities that reduce setup time and increase machine throughput by designing processes to utilize more automation, reduce operator intervention, utilize more advance tooling.
  • Working knowledge of major welding and metallurgical processes: Materials joining, Heat treatment/Stress relief, and equipment, Military welding standards, NDT Inspection processes.
  • Working knowledge of multi-axis machining center operation using conventional machining methods of metallic components.
  • Continuous improvement Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities and capital planning, resource, and capacity planning.
