ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers and Facilities stakeholders responsible for project controls deliverables or derive value from project controls reporting and data
  • Enforce, maintain, and enhance existing project controls standards, lend creative thinking in pursuit of opportunities to improve project delivery
  • Play a lead in establishing standardized maintenance protocols and in developing improved, customized workflows to suit developing needs
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed awareness of project statuses across the entire portfolio
  • Maintain continuous gap analysis between proposed deliverables and project goals, communicate analysis to users, make recommendations to users and establish formal agreement before deliverables are acted upon
  • Provide timely, clear, and accurate reports and commentary to the Executive Team that describe current statuses, floats paths, risk severity, delay mitigation measures and an informed narrative as to likely outcomes
  • Partner with departmental users to identify, prioritize and sequence the project goals
  • Conducts root cause analysis
  • Drafts comprehensive project procedures
  • Oversees the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules
  • Establishes and maintains client relationships
  • Able to review and assess (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems
  • Ensure the timely distribution of a variety of monthly reports targeted at internal administrative audiences
  • Maintain continuous gap analysis between proposed deliverables and project goals, communicate analysis to users, make recommendations to users and establish formal agreement before deliverables are acted upon
  • Develop a training program and materials for user training
  • Make decisions within policies and procedures and informs others; requires some independent judgement
  • The Director of Project Controls works closely with Business and Estimating to ensure that any quantity deviations from budget are properly accounted for and that projects are supported by the proper people, tools, and procedures to produce quality reporting and analysis

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree or higher in engineering or construction management required
  • Minimum 10 yrs experience in a senior project management, engineering, or estimating role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, federal, state, and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, in good standing

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of project and financial software a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.

Compensation Range: $150K - $200K
