SUMMARY
The Director of Prospect Research and Management is responsible for providing prospect research, prospect management support and analysis. This position will provide biographies, data and portfolio analysis as well as other research needs for the advancement office. This position will also coordinate the research, development and implementation of all phases pertaining to the solicitation of gifts from foundations, state or federal governments and corporations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.
  • Provide research support that informs strategy including affinity and capacity analysis and other donor segmentation needs
  • Create custom prospect reports for advancement leadership
  • Provide top notch customer service
  • Assist with portfolio management for all gift officer staff
  • Manage foundation-related information and documentation
  • Write and submit grant proposals for campaign, academic and project-based fundraising priorities
  • Collaborate with faculty on grant opportunities
  • Monitor grant
  • Work within database systems to track and monitor progress and metrics
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Serve on university committees as assigned and requested
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a member of the advancement team, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior prospect research experience preferred
  • Two to three years experience in a research-related field/position
  • Must be effective in both written and verbal forms of communication
  • Must demonstrate ability to analyze, synthesize and clearly report on a high volume of information
  • Must possess excellent ability to organize, communicate and implement multiple tasks, meet multiple deadlines
  • Individual will exhibit a life and service that is in full accord with the Spring Arbor University Concept and Community Covenant
