The Public Relations Specialist will be collaborating with the Marketing team to design and implement strategies to engage members, employees and community members through educational and creative content. Creates and curates educational content for financial well-being to be distributed in various print and digital channels. With direction from the Chief of Marketing Officer, manage member communications and content to ensure compliance, accuracy and consistency of information to create meaningful engagement among current and potential members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating, curating and maintaining all educational content, including but not limited to; quarterly newsletter, annual report, member mailings, brochures, posters, and community blog. Ensure quality, accuracy and compliance of said content.
- Ensure compliance, accuracy and consistency of information and branding across all digital platforms, including but not limited to; website, digital banking, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
- Assist in development, coordination and execution of events in which the credit union can make an impact. Participate in community events on behalf of the credit union including annual and special events.
- Develop and execute a Business Development Plan to include community engagements with schools, businesses and individuals, focusing on educating the public about financial wellbeing.
- Communicate with credit union staff to ensure consistent messaging and awareness of credit union initiatives. Includes employee newsletter, promotional messaging, and general communications. This also includes making visits to branches to ensure employee knowledge of upcoming initiatives and events.
- Assist in the creation of video content for educational and commercial use.
- Develop and maintain a robust Youth engagement plan to include educational content and event management.
- Participate in roundtable discussions and focus groups as needed.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to help promote the credit union’s vision.
- Complete required and recommended educational courses; Follow all rules and regulations as applicable to job function, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in marketing, English, Journalism, Business, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to work in an office setting daily, this is not a remote position.
- Superior writing skills, including creative and concise written content.
- Superior verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pleasant, outgoing personality; ability to represent the Credit Union with poise and enthusiasm to the community at large.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite, with skills in InDesign and Premiere.
- Familiar with digital photography and editing.
- Knowledge of HTML coding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of online marketing with creative and analytical abilities.
- Self-directed, motivated, results, and detail-oriented. Superior organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- Visual acuity. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; extensive reading on a computer monitor
- Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, either in person or on the phone.
- Light work. Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
