REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT, MANUFACTURING

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing, the Director of Purchasing department is responsible for all activities related to the purchase, price negotiation, lead time enforcement and inventory of all materials in support of production manufacturing. This role is also responsible for leading and developing policies and procedures to ensure quality materials are available in order to meet production requirements and developing and coordinating the efficient movement of materials in conjunction with purchasing, production, and engineering. This position is located in Milpitas, California.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with purchasing strategies that support organizational goals and objectives
  • Leads negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, terms and quality of goods and services
  • Drives the development of overall organizational supply and logistics strategies
  • Establishes purchasing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures to achieve strategic production objectives
  • Monitors and reports on purchasing activities and results to senior management
  • Evaluates, negotiates, and manages the complex or strategically critical supplier and vendor relationships to secure terms and conditions which are in the company’s best interest
  • Manages and oversees the purchasing team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Seven plus years of experience leading supplier quality or purchasing programs in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Five years of experience in a management role leading cross functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of supplier quality, supply chain, and purchasing function best practices in a semiconductor environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge and ability to lead and manage materials purchasing, supply chain logistics, and vendor relationships in a manufacturing production environment at a strategic level
  • Knowledge and ability to develop programs and processes which reduce overall organizational costs, improve materials quality, and contribute to strategic and departmental efficiencies
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to purchasing
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and able to prioritize

The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $163,039.99-$239,764.69 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Director of Purchasing works primarily in an office environment from Monday to Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs.
Stands, walks, bends and twists; performs various fine grasping movements; spends majority of the time in a seated position, operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally be required to push, pull, or lift up to 10 pounds.
