St. Catherine University and the Student Center & Activities (SCA) department invite applications for a full-time Director of Student Center & Activities.

Reporting to the Universities senior student affair officer, the Director develops and implements the mission and goals for the Student Center and the Student Center & Activities (SCA) department, working collaboratively with a diverse student body in creating an inclusive and engaging program of activities and events for our community.

St. Catherine University is the largest private university for women in the nation and has been identified as a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) where our students self-identify as BIPOC at 38% across all colleges, 31% are first-generation college students, and 34% receive Pell Grant funding. This position coordinates and facilitates the daily operation of the SCA office and the Coeur de Catherine Information Center, leading a team of staff and student employees who create an inclusive, welcoming and friendly environment for all students to resource. Responsibilities include:
  • Create and steward policies and processes that serve students’ involvement needs
  • Design & implement leadership development training programs and opportunities
  • Advise comprehensive Student Governance structures
  • Advise College for Women Student Government (Senate)
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate professional staff so that they are effective and successful
  • Supervise professional staff, graduate assistants and student employees
  • Oversee 60+ Chartered Student Organizations
  • Arrange training for club officers, advisors and leaders in event planning and group development
  • Co-Chair new student Orientation Steering Committee for the university

The Director has overall responsibility for the Student Center, both the facility and the program. The Director is responsible for the overall design, planning, direction and administration of the operational, programmatic, financial and staffing functions of the Student Center and will provide leadership and supervision to the professional staff. The Director will work collaboratively with other offices/departments located within Coeur de Catherine to meet student needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education or College Student Development required
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in student activities and or student center management
  • Supervisory/advisory experience including hiring, training, motivating and facilitating professional development for students or professional employees
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a Catholic liberal arts institution dedicated to women’s education
  • Experience developing and managing a budget


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with establishing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with students, student organizations, faculty, staff and agents.
  • Fluency in one of the following languages: ASL, Hmong, Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese
