Director of Youth Ministries
First Methodist Church of Jasper, Texas

Submit application to the attention of the Pastor.

Responsible for all youth ministries.

Part-time position that reports to the pastor. Salary range $15,000 to $18,000 annually, based on experience

Duties include:

• Develop and work with a youth ministry council to create calendar of programming, events, trips, and activities
• Communicate with parents, students, and entire church all the youth ministry activities
• Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers
• Prepare lessons for Wednesday and Sunday youth gatherings
• Prepare snack schedules and activities for these events as well
• Assist pastor in teaching annual confirmation class
• Teach youth Sunday School
• Plan fundraisers for youth activities when needed
• Help coordinate VBS with staff members and volunteers
• Attend summer church camp at Lakeview and UM ARMY
• Organize youth involvement in special Sunday worship services such as graduating senior Sunday, Hanging of the Greens, sunrise Easter service
• Encourage youth involvement in worship services in such positions as greeters, ushers, and liturgist.
• Organize an annual youth Sunday service
• Administer and oversight of the youth budget
• Assist with the teacher appreciation luncheon
• Work with the summer intern
• Partner with other churches for connectional youth activities
• Support youth participating in various school and community activities such as athletics and FFA
• Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15,000.00 - $18,000.00 per year
