What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace.

The Director, Talent Acquisition will initially report to the Chief People Officer and work in close collaboration with hiring managers across the company, and function-specific colleagues in brand strategy, finance, marketing, and legal. This is a player/coach position that provides opportunity for individual leadership-level recruiting plus team building and management responsibilities.

The essence of this role is to:

  • Strategically execute on the company hiring plan.
  • Hire and manage a team of full-life cycle recruiters, sourcers, and coordination professionals.
  • Serve as lead recruiter on select senior positions across functions as assigned.
  • Establish inclusive TA reporting practices in concert with people ops and strategy colleagues.
  • Collaborate with Chief People Officer and colleagues in brand strategy to develop and execute on employer brand and talent marketing initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with organizations that support historically underrepresented populations within the automotive and technology communities.
  • Establish and manage talent acquisition vendor relationships.
  • Engage with local talent community in all Scout Motors locations
  • Represent Scout at talent acquisition related external events and forums.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. Applicants should be based in South Carolina or nearby and able to convene in person with Scout colleagues and be able to travel to participate in talent-acquisition related events on behalf of the company.


What you’ll bring
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, substantively in talent acquisition and related fields with progressive people management responsibilities. Automotive and/or manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable, inclusive talent acquisition practices.
  • Prior people management and candidate sourcing responsibilities.
  • Passion for providing positive, inclusive candidate-centric recruiting experiences informed by data.
  • Deep interest and ability to create equitable processes to enable building a diverse and inclusive company.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, collaborative orientation, enthusiastic attitude, growth mindset.
  • Ability to work well across departments, influence with and without authority, and strengthen company culture through effective collaboration.
