The individual will lead the sales initiatives for their assigned business unit through the effective communication and coordination with the C-suite, Division President, Field Leadership Team and Sales Organization. The primary focus will be improving sales effectiveness and leveraging resources, including business intelligence platforms, to achieve profitable organic growth rates above market levels. Sales growth levers and responsibilities will include leading and deploying strategies related to share gain, new customer acquisition, greenfield locations, new category and product launches, including an intense focus on the company’s private label brand.
Duties and responsibilities

  • Sales Growth and Profitability
  • Develop the sales strategy for outside branch sales teams to drive profitable growth in support of the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
  • Direct and manage the coordination of sales efforts in a way that integrates the local markets with national accounts, call center activity and the company’s omni-channel offering in order to drive wallet share gain and new customer acquisition.
  • Work with field Sales Leadership Teams to develop sales budgets and territory design.
  • Review and optimize the activity levels of the Sales Team to ensure the proper frequency of customer touch points, coaching, and planning are taking place.
  • Ensure the use of all available resources (i.e. digital and traditional) to drive prospecting and qualification efforts that result in an on-going evergreen effort for new customer acquisition.
  • Drive the Beacon omni-channel value proposition that uniquely positions the company to deliver on our service commitment of saving time and creating efficiencies for our customers.
  • Lead adoption of digital platforms internally and externally.
  • Assist in the discovery, launch and implementation of new digital resources and tools that drive growth.
  • Lead the execution of line of business expansions, new product launches, greenfield locations and the rollout new technology platforms.
  • Create strategies to leverage Salesforce (CRM) across the entire selling organization, including inside and outside salesforces, as well the sales leadership teams.
  • Ensure effective pricing strategies are in place that lead to the achievement of the budgeted gross margin.
  • Leverage market research and field intelligence to gain insights and assess impact of competitive offerings and vendor developments; recommend strategic and tactical changes in overall business direction as appropriate.
  • Organize and drive outreach efforts with networking organizations such as home building, facility management, and property owner organizations, etc.
  • Leverage business intelligence platforms to develop and automate the review of sales and gross margin metrics to highlight successful strategies needing expanded and identifying areas of opportunity.

Talent Development:
  • Recruit, develop, and retain sales teams capable of delivering our sales and service objectives.
  • Assist in the development and advancement of sales training materials and platforms that enhance the company’s selling effectiveness.
  • Leads development of effective compensation plans that drive goal attainment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of sales leadership experience in the field.
