Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Divisional Clinical Resource Director you will be responsible for establishing and leading the supply expense agenda for clinical resource management for an IDN. The Clinical Resource Director is responsible for driving positive change through program definition and leading initiatives that supports health care organizations’ clinical expense agenda. This position has a broad enterprise and segment influence and will need to build alliances with Corporate and Hospital Leadership, Physicians and Supply Chain Executives to successfully execute their clinical supply expense plans. The Clinical Resource Director will serve as the SME lead for surgical categories portfolio and demonstrate the value of HealthTrust’s Consulting and Advisory solutions through standardization, improved productivity and decreased surgical supplies costs.

As a Divisional Clinical Resource Director, your duties will include:

  • Provides leadership in the area of expense management specific to surgical category portfolio to contribute to the IDN and individual facilities overall strategic plan to improve supply expenses in a variety of facility departments
  • Provides direct leadership in the oversight and accountability for the operational effectiveness for supply expense management plan in collaboration with the VP, Supply Chain
  • Collaborates with the facility Value Analysis Teams to assimilates information from variety of sources, able to analyze data and make strategic recommendations and executes a course of action for overall supply and pharmacy savings opportunities
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates within the system and facilities:

  • A system approach to cost savings opportunities
  • Policies and procedures related to expense management
  • Product standardization and utilization
  • Participates in development of facility Value Analysis Teams to HealthTrust’s best practices

This role serves as a leader and SME for Steward Surgical Value Analysis Team.

  • Creates external and internal customer confidence, committed to increasing customer satisfaction, and managing customer expectations
  • Demonstrates responsibility for solving customer challenges, ensures commitments to customers are met by soliciting opinions and ideas from customers for improvements in products and services.
  • Collaborates with a wide variety of stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure solutions are responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain strong effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders within the IDN and facility leadership, Supply Chain, and HealthTrust
  • Timely produce and provide quality assurance of deliverables
  • Execute on established clinical supply expense improvement agenda incorporating cost, quality and outcomes
  • Identify and lead surgical supplies/category standardization, optimization and expense reduction initiatives
  • Interpret Steward Health surgery spend profile to identify opportunities for improvement and review of monthly financial reports to determine negative and positive variances.
  • Develop standardized documents, processes, and calculations for use by the supply expense management, value analysis and finance teams to quantify savings
  • Achieve financial objectives of the business line through managing operational expenses and updating revenue projections
  • Manage projects within scope, time and budget.
  • Support organization growth and maturation of service offerings
  • Core consulting skills including relationship building/development, presentation skills, business writing, analytics, and problem solving
  • Demonstrates a strong value analysis process knowledge in an healthcare organization
  • Provides effective communication which includes verbal and good listening, writing, and presentation skills to a variety of stakeholders from executives to staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate within the organization’s formal and informal structures, builds relationships across departments, is appropriately diplomatic, understands roles and perspectives
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a professional, multi-disciplinary team as a group leader, facilitator, or participant
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage conflict resolution by using common approaches and facilitation techniques to lead teams to alignment and high performance levels.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct philosophy, mission and vision statements.
  • Documented examples of successful clinical initiative implementation in a multi facility environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a comprehensive clinical program within a hospital environment and multi-facility healthcare organization required. Demonstrated leadership history and capability required.
  • Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of HealthTrust, large IDNs, other organizations leadership and staff
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Strong organization skills
  • Knowledge of industry leading practices and key metrics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Requirements

  • College degree with Bachelor of Science in clinical area required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of in a healthcare leadership role with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Desirable experience that includes demonstrated knowledge of hospital and clinical staff functions specially in the surgery department operations and expense management of supplies and services, and disease management. Demonstrated experience at the executive level and the ability to work in a matrix environment is highly preferred. Five years in a healthcare executive position and two years consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Maintains current licensure/credentials in his/her clinical specialty.
