PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under day-to-day direction of the Remediation Supervisor, will provide the highest quality of products for customer delivery. The position is responsible for performing the day-to-day digital remediation (Accessible PDF, Office formats, etc.) work in our Potsdam DAS facilities or Toronto DAS facilities. Responsible for ensuring customer client Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and document quality requirements are met.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day digital remediation work required to meet client Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Assist accessible document support/training/expertise to other/new members of the digital remediation team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of digital remediation rules and guidelines in adherence to industry, governed (PDFUA / WCAG / HHS), and Crawford Technologies standards.
  • Maintain client specifications for digital remediation as it pertains to their preferences.
  • Maintain current knowledge of alternate format rules and guidelines in adherence to industry, governed, and Crawford Technologies standards.
  • Capable of performing document transcription for all alternative formats provided by Crawford Technologies (Accessible PDF, Accessible Office documents, Braille, Large Print, Audio, e-Text & Daisy).
  • Thorough knowledge of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards and ensure the DAS manual transcription team are always fully compliant with the relative security standards and processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Quality Control processes and requirements are met.
  • Provide production assistance to operations as required and as time is available.

SKILLS

  • An understanding of the alternate format rules and guidelines for producing Accessible PDF, Accessible Office documents, Braille, Large Print, Audio, e-Text and Daisy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to effectively plan your own activities to achieve customer SLA’s.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to meet fixed deadlines.
  • Excellent computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • A commitment to work toward Braille transcription certification and Braille proofreader certification.
  • Willingness to work afternoon and night shifts if required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Work experience in an area requiring attention to detail.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office products.
  • Any prior experience with desktop publishing is a plus.
  • Any prior experience with accessible documents is a plus.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
