Job Overview: Apply knowledge and skills in controlling and/or handling individual animal temperament. Possess ability to gain animal confidence when restraining them for grooming. Knowledge of grooming practices for wide range of small animals, including hand-scissoring skills. Possess above average customer service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Professional grooming techniques for a variety of dog breeds and cats Perform grooming services, including clipping, hand scissoring, medicated and general cleansing, parasite control baths, pedicures, and ear cleansing, as requested for each pet

· Groom animals utilizing techniques which vary depending on type of hair, coat, breed and owner instructions; bathe and dry animals; perform pedicures and clean ears

· Perform all general maintenance of grooming room; clean cages, tubs, grooming tables; vacuum floor; mop floor daily; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors and brushes after use.

Job Requirement

· Full-time professional grooming experience

· Perform all general maintenance of grooming room; clean cages, tubs, grooming tables; vacuum floor; mop floor daily; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors and brushes after use.

· Recommend retail products that would aid in home grooming care of pets. Enjoys working closely with other team members.

Education and/or Experience

· Minimum 1 year of experience in bathing/grooming animals in a professional environment

Physical Effort

· Often requires lifting and carrying animals weighing up to 50 lbs.

· Frequently requires handling animals up to 20 lbs.

· Additionally, handle dogs weighing up to and over 150 lbs.

· Walking and/or standing for long periods; frequently working in a bent position.

· May be required to use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45.00 per hour
