Bay View Bark is looking for friendly and compassionate dog lovers for Shift Lead positions.

Compensation for this position begins at $13.00-$15.00/hr depending on experience, with the potential for a pay increase after a 90 day probationary period.

· After a 90 probationary period, Shift Leads are eligible for Paid Time Off and Training Shift Premiums (extra pay).

· Shift Pay Premiums (extra pay) are offered for evenings.

· Shift Pay Premiums (extra pay) are offered for Active 3rd Shift.

· Time and a half pay is offered for Holidays.

· Additional merit-based pay increases are provided as employees become more experienced.

Day Care is free for your dog when you are on shift. (Employee must complete probationary period and employee dog must meet our standard behavior and health requirements). 50% discount on Day Care and Stay & Play for your dog when you are not in the building. Bay View Bark also offers a 40% discount on retail items for employees.

Applicants must have at least 6 months of dog handling experience in a professional setting and have at least 1 year of customer service experience.

Applicants will be assisting Bay View Bark’s management team with handling dogs, cleaning the facility, answering phones, making appointments for our customers, and leading staff when management is out of the building.

Applicants must be responsible, sociable, and able to get along with people from a variety of different backgrounds.

Attendance is an important part of this position. Reliable transportation is a must. Plan on perfect attendance, even during inclement weather.

Basic computer and phone skills are required.

Experience with identifying potential health issues in dogs and canine first aid skills is a plus.

This is a full time position (33 - 40 hours per week). Applicants must have day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of hiring.

All applicants should:

Have good communication skills- Be able to think on your feet and reliably follow directions- Enjoy interacting with dogs of all breeds and sizes- Have experience working with dogs and reading basic dog body language - Be comfortable learning to work with groups of 15-20 dogs at a time- Be okay with cleaning up after dog messes routinely throughout the day and evening- Be excited to learn and perform positive, reward based training methods- Have stamina to keep up in a fast paced environment- Plan for working outdoors in all kinds of weather year round.

Plan on excellent attendance, even in inclement weather.

Applicants must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time-Must be able to walk quickly and run. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, run, bend, crouch, climb stairs and crawl on a regular basis- Be capable of regular cleaning activities: mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing and more. Shift Lead candidates must be able to be mentally and physically present during shifts and able to respond quickly to customer and dog tasks.'
