We’re looking for a CAD Drafter/Designer who seeks out solutions to challenging problems and is excited to tackle each new challenge presented by our customers. A strong candidate for this position will have the ability to think outside the box and seek out unique solutions using a creative mindset, backed by experience and learning. Additionally, communication and a growth mindset are critical to succeeding as a CAD Drafter/Designer at Solid Form. QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates Degree in Drafting Technology, CAD technology, or equivalent experience in an Engineering related field strongly preferred

• Solidworks drafting experience

• 2+ years of experience with field measurement tools/methods and site-takeoffs

• 3-7 years of experience in the metal fabrication or construction industries a plus

• Strong written and verbal skills

• High degree of computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Strong understanding of how to read and create prints for part drawings and large assemblies

A CAD Drafter/Designer at Solid Form creates custom, one of a kind, solutions for customers in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors – ranging from pre-engineered large-scale structural packages to one-off architectural pieces.

Your focus will be:

• Design and draft custom solutions utilizing CAD and other in-house software

• Interpreting field measurements of on-site conditions prior to the start of design or fabrication

• Create complete work orders for fabrication and installation from architectural and structural drawings

• Review supplied plans to identify and address design constructability issues prior to fabrication

• Value Engineer projects to meet a customer’s requirements

• Coordinate with shop fabricators during the build process to ensure the desired outcome is achieved

• Create material take-offs and source materials/hardware required per the design specs.

• Participate in process improvement and R&D projects
