JOB SUMMARY
Communication: Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Reasoning Ability: make judgment calls, perform proper notifications, and make appropriate decisions.
Other Skills: Ability to relate to the underserved, homeless, and disabled populations. Work independently or as part of a team, be organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, be flexible, and must be even-tempered.
JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Transports customers to various locations specified on Transportation Request with Agency van.
- Schedules daily routes, prioritizing trips to HRA, Department of Labor, transfers to/from other shelters and housing appointments for customers.
- Maintains van in pristine condition, ensuring cleanliness inside and out.
- Monitors and schedules routine maintenance of van (inspections, oil changes, tire rotation, etc.)
- Reviews transportation requests with respective Supervisor.
- Maintains accurate documentation of runs, logging mileage and destinations.
- Adheres to proper use of company resources (cell phones, office supplies, vehicles, etc.).
- Must be able to multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Does not fraternize with customers; maintains a professional boundary.
- Drives within posted speed limits and ensures that all passengers wear required safety belts.
- Does not use cell phone or substance while driving.

Salary: $20.20 an hour
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID 19
- Education: HS Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Previous driving experience preferred.
- Certificates or Licenses: Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record.
