The Salvation Army Chandler Corps is looking to fill a Driver/Pantry Worker position. The successful candidate for this position will be able to work independently and show initiative, have a clean driving record and obtain a food handler certificate. . This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, free membership and more.

The Driver/Pantry Worker will drive a box truck to pick up food from different stores and organizations for the food pantry. This person will be responsible for separating and cataloguing food donations and making food boxes for clients. This employee will maintain a clean and neat pantry and rotate stock on a regular basis. This position will also help keep records of all incoming food and assist with reporting documents for tracking purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Valid Arizona drivers license with clean driving record
• Ability to maintain Salvation Army drivers test certification
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
• Required to successfully pass a criminal background check
• Must have or obtain food handler certificate within 30 days of employment
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
