Job description
We're hiring a Driver Recruiter with full-cycle recruiting experience in the Chicago area.
From talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great truck drivers. A successful recruiter will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. You should also be able to attract candidates using a variety of sources including trucking schools, social media networks and employee referrals. Our ideal recruiter has experience screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates. Ultimately, the responsibility of the Driver Recruiter is to ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best drivers, while growing a strong talent pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Initiate driver leads by networking, cold-calling prospects, and building relationships as part of a coordinated recruiting strategy.
- Create and maintain a pipeline of qualified drivers by using different lead generation tools
- Work in collaboration with all departmental executives, directors, managers, and supervisors to meet recruiting and hiring objectives.
- Maintain and review driver recruiting goals to keep current with the needs of our West Coast facilities
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with Tractor/Trailer Driving Schools, their instructors and leaders.
- Make presentations and portray Lily Transportation positively during formal and informal events.
- Manage the new driver onboarding and orientation process
- Work closely with corporate Safety & Compliance team to coordinate timely road tests, drug tests and DOT physicals.
- Manage ad posting process and tools.
- Must be able to track and report on all activities on a routine basis
- Conduct Monthly Market analysis.
- Take the lead role during recruiting surges such as Peak Season, acquired businesses, or expanding operations.
- Perform other duties assigned by Department Supervisor.
Skills
- Experience in recruiting commercial truck drivers
- Knowledge of Tenstreet ATS
- Adept at placing ads on Indeed, Zip Recruiter, Google, Facebook and other social platforms.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time well
