Steadfast Supportive Living Inc. is a specialized adult support program for individuals with developmental disabilities providing services in the clients home and community. Employees teach, assist, and support clients in developing new skills and obtain new experiences allowing them to live rich and fulfilling lives. Applicant will be trained in de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. No experience required.

SUMMARY:

Currently seeking day and swing

The Support Staff is responsible for maintaining and encouraging an independent normalized environment. The Support Staff will provide support in, but not limited to: community integration, laundry care, personal hygiene (to include trimming nails and shaving), cooking, cleaning, socialization, recreation, self-medication, sewing, meal planning, shopping, and property care. If applicable, support will also include speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy with the direction of the therapist. The Support Staff will implement and follow support programs with the guidance of the Program Manager. The Support Staff will be available for discussions that deal with everyday problems or concerns of individuals living. The Support Staff will be responsible for assisting Clients with any medical needs, including assistance in arranging appointments with health care professions, and assisting and ensuring transportation for the individual to health care services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with other Support Staff concerning clients, progress notes, problems, or other information which occurred during their shift.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information, both client and agency. All staff must sign a confidentiality statement.
• The person hired for the position must exhibit mature behavior, demonstrate the capability to be an appropriate role model to the individuals and have the ability to make required independent judgement.

Nocturnal (Grave) Staff will:

• Remain awake and complete a minimum of 4 random bed checks each hour during sleeping hours if instructed by the clients plan.
• Initial the assigned Grave Shift checklist for all completed tasks.
• Complete individual progress notes on each client.
• Ensure the security and safety of the home.

REQUIREMENTS:

A Support Staff must:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Have a high school diploma, or high school or equivalency course of study (GED/HSEC)
• Complete certification is required DDA and agency trainings
• Have the skill and ability to work successfully with the special needs of those in care.
• Have a Valid Washington State Driver's License (copy on file).
• Food Handler's Card (copy on file).
• Current Vehicle Insurance (copy on file).
• DMV Driving Abstract (copy on file).
• The ability to lift 50 lbs.
• The ability to maneuver up and down stairs in a timely manner.
• Have reliable transportation.

An employee will be provided the following training:

• 75 hours of in-service training (Core Training) for all DDA Support Staff and at least 12 hours of refresher 1163 training each year after.
• Training shall include a combination of orientation, instruction, and on the job training.
• CPR and First Aid, HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens training.
• Read and understand Agency Policies and Programmatic Policies & Procedures.
• Take required De-escalation training (RIGHT RESPONSE) and any other required training that Administration/DDA requires.

• Programs Director $25.00 - $30.00 (internally offered only)
• Program Lead $18.50 - $20.00 per hour (internally offered only)
• Support Staff $16.50 - $18.00 per hour (Starting wage $16.50-$18.00 depending on education and full-time experience only)
