Early Intervention Social Worker
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced clinician seeking a rewarding career with children and families? We are seeking a EI Social Worker to provide behavioral therapy, mental health support, and teach parenting skills to parents/caregivers of children served in the Early Intervention program, in individual group settings, or play therapy sessions using a family centered approach. These children are between the ages of birth and three years whose development is at risk by certain biological or environmental risk factors.

Some duties include:
- Participate in multidisciplinary team evaluations and the development of IFSP’s for children/families referred to the EarIy Intervention Program, addressing family issues, resources, and needs.
- Provide support for the parents/caregivers of enrolled children around general parenting issues and/or the issues of raising a child with special needs.
- Social/emotional and family assessments
- Co-facilitate psychosocial, developmental groups
- Consultation on social/emotional and family issues to other Early Intervention staff
- Attend orientation trainings offered by the Department of Public Health’s Training Center as requireD
- Maintain productivity requirements which may include assessments, group services, individual treatment and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the MA Registry of Social Work,
- or Master’s degree from an accredited recognized institution in:
- Counseling psychology
- Clinical psychology
- Developmental psychology
- Educational psychology
- or current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) by the MA Board of Allied Health and Human Services Professions
- or current licensure as a Licensed marriage and Family therapist (LMFT) by the MA Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions
- or Master’s degree from an accredited recognized institution in:
- Certification as an Early Intervention Specialist by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) or eligible to be certified within two years of employment in a MDPH certified Early Intervention program.
- Knowledge of community social services, education and health service agencies
- Strong interest and/or training and experience in infant, toddler, and family development
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent oral and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate based on the needs of the audience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook skills and electronic documentation
- Comfortable with remote application such as Zoom for telehealth, team or other meetings
- Ability to be certified in a CPR and First Aid program that specifically addresses treatment of infants and toddlers
- Negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray
- Evidence of immunity for measles, mumps and rubella
- Valid driver’s license, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
- Ability to work flexible hours to respond to program scheduling needs.
