VA-Com Online Employment Agency is urgently in need of Early Intervention Teachers.
We are looking for an analytical, empathetic Intervention Specialist to assist us with designing and implementing individualized programs for children with special educational and social adjustment needs. The intervention specialist will consider factors such as language, sexual orientation, developmental level, religion, and health status when making recommendations. You will create and maintain records of progress, and collaborate with parents to refer children to psychologists and other therapists.
Job Description:
- Conducting assessments of young children with developmental delays or disabilities to determine their needs and develop individualized education plans.
- Providing one-on-one or small group instruction to children using a variety of teaching and therapeutic strategies.
- Collaborating with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide coordinated support and services to the children.
- Monitoring children's progress and adjusting instruction and intervention strategies as needed.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate records of children's progress and sharing information with families and other professionals involved in their care.
- Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in early childhood intervention.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood education, special education, psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in early childhood education or early intervention, preferably with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Teaching credential or certification in early childhood special education, or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of evidence-based teaching and therapeutic strategies for young children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and completing required paperwork.
Job Type: Temporary
Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
