Role Summary
The function of the Process Technician is to continually monitor and adjust operating parameters to meet production schedules and requirements. The Process Technician will assist the shift supervisor and lab technician to ensure all operating systems meet the requirements set for production. These requirements may consist of, but are not limited to, system monitoring, filter changes, pressure and flow adjustments, heat exchanger cleaning, and data control collection and recording. Responsible to perform 5S and regular cleaning responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of operating systems as needed.
- Run the e-coat system (loading racks & put in the correct program, operate conveyors, hoist) and respond to process equipment alarms.
- Assist Maintenance with PM’s, when racks come off of the hoist while in process tanks, and when racks crash in the oven.
- Perform start-up and visual inspection of E-Coat system
- Perform bag filter changes.
- Clean and (or) replace UF filters on E-coat system.
- Daily documentation of operating parameters on E-Coat system every four hours.
- Assist E-Coat personnel in the transfer and clean-out and refill of chemistry and rinse stages of E-Coat system.
- Load out hazardous and non-hazardous waste pickups
- Load empty totes into trailer, unload chemical totes as needed.
- Monitor and adjust cartridge loading system for E-Coat.

- Must have a basic understanding of process control
- Must have a basic understanding of process data collection
- Ability to multi-task
- Must demonstrate good judgement
Additional Information
KNOWLEDGE
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required, Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience
TECHNICAL TRAINING: Understanding of chemistry to perform EDP/Wastewater analysis, Forklift Certification
OTHER: Computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
