Coordinator for all department continuing medical education and continuing optometric education; meets with faculty course director to develop program and educational objectives for every event; prepares and submits CME and CE applications to the appropriate organizations (The Center for Continuing Medical Education at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Ohio Vision Professionals Board); oversee the creative development of program materials including website, save the date, and brochure, ensuring all of continuing education program information includes program objectives and accreditation statements; manage all speaker requirements including letter of invitation, disclosure forms, audio visual, transportation, lodging, and other needs as requested; manage and provide on-site support to course director and attendees including attendance, distribution and collection of evaluations, CME tracking, and course material; handle all hotel arrangements including meeting room set-up, overnight accommodations, food and beverage ordering, incidentals, audio visual equipment, final billing, and payment processing; soliciting for exhibitor booths, applying for industry grants, and providing on-site support for participating companies; assigning dates and maintaining all Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) events and applications; managing annual resident research symposium with collection and distribution of materials, creating schedule, and securing judges; plan and execute all department social events, including graduation celebration, summer welcome picnic, holiday party, and staff appreciation days; manage wet lab use, including reservations access, and materials ordering; assisting in execution of learner and faculty recruitment as needed.

Plans, organizes and oversees fellowship and optometric resident recruitment, new house staff orientation in collaboration with the Fellowship & Optometric Residency Directors; oversees and ensures compliance with educational requirements and regulations; tracks distribution of learner and faculty assignments for online evaluation program; provides feedback and rotation evaluations to Fellowship & Residency Directors; serves as a liaison between directors, faculty, department administrator and national organizations.

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in program planning and administration required; administrative experience planning and coordinating educational programing preferred; computer literacy required with considerable experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
