The Educator-Revenue Cycle is responsible for operationalizing and maintaining successful education programs for Loma Linda University Health’s hospital Patient Business Office and Registration teams. Maintains understanding of all the Revenue Cycle systems; including but not limited to the Epic and Cerner system applications and the related workflows. Develops, plans and leads revenue cycle training initiatives. Collaborates, coordinates, and creates focused trainings based on quality and performance data provided by the Revenue Cycle Quality Analysts. Works closely with the Epic and Cerner maintenance teams to ensure workflow and system changes accurately reflect current workflows. Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Healthcare Management or related field required or an additional five years of experience required in lieu of degree. Minimum three years of large acute care academic hospital revenue cycle experience required; preferably five years of experience. Minimum one year classroom teaching, developing curricula and training resources required. Valid Driver’s License required at time of hire. Epic Credentialed Trainer in Hospital Billing and/or Prelude preferred. Must certify as a Credentialed Trainer and Prelude within eighteen months of hire.

Experience as an Epic Trainer required. General understanding of the revenue cycle process. Knowledge of and comfortable with healthcare improvement methodologies; knowledge of reimbursement/payment policies, medical terminology, medical record coding, and claim billing strongly preferred. Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
