Summary:

The EHS Manager is responsible for analyzing, identifying, and measuring workplace hazards or stresses that can cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in employees through chemical, physical, ergonomic, or biological exposures. They are responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety laws and creating policies for a safer work environment. They must take measures to identify potential workplace hazards and improve existing conditions. The EHS Manager will be responsible for ensuring that quality training and best safety practices are in place for a safe and effective workplace.

Work with site and corporate leadership team to ensure operations are compliant with applicable environmental, health & safety (EHS) regulations, security policies, & EHS policies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the design, implementation and maintenance of safety programs, policies, & procedures to ensure an environmentally safe & secure workplace that meets or exceeds all Federal, State, & Local regulations & standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and implement EHS programs in accordance with Federal, State, & local regulatory requirements, including all record keeping and required submissions.
  • Create and maintain a compliance calendar for all relevant EHS functions and responsibilities at the plant.
  • Develop and provide appropriate training to employees and contractors related to implemented EHS programs.
  • Manage site EHS audits/inspections and ensure corrective actions are followed through on.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments and develop operating protocols to manage these hazards.
  • Attend and conduct annual training programs as necessary to remain compliant with Federal and State requirements.
  • Manage and document loss prevention activities, industrial hygiene activities, medical support, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Employs proactive approach to managing workplace safety and accident prevention by utilizing Job Hazard Analysis, accident analysis, inspections and safety education and training.
  • Plans and implements programs to educate and train employees on workplace safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Ownership and oversight of the following initiatives and programs to ensure compliance and increase awareness: - Safety Committee - Powered Industrial Truck Certification - Incident Investigations - Emergency and Severe Weather Response Programs - Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Program
  • Track and Investigate safety incidents by providing root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and drive a Safety Culture within the plant.
  • Position may require interface with Clients and Government Officials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Required)
  • EHS: 2 years (Required)
  • OSHA: 2 years (Required)

  • Root cause analysis: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Safety Professional (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 (Preferred)
