Electrical Engineer
Job description
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager for our Client, a power plant, located in Queens with other locations in Staten Island and Brooklyn.
PLEASE NOTE: this position is outside of Northwell Health system.
In this role you will be providing subject matter expertise on all heavy electrical equipment, managing regulatory compliance programs, and support renewable development activities.
The ideal candidate would have a B.S. (M.S. degree preferred) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with 5+ years of experience with plant and substation physical electrical, protection and control design schematics, SCADA systems, including station communications and station automation design, as well as knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA and ANSI
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide subject matter expertise for High Voltage Electrical equipment
- Support Solar and Battery Energy Storage Development activities
- Provide NERC compliance oversight of all facilities and manage O&M service provider supporting day to day NERC compliance
- Support day-to-day operational activities, outage work, new projects and programs
- Support construction and equipment testing and commissioning
- Coordinate and provide technical assistance for SCADA, substation/plant physical, and control projects in order to fully develop system integration of protection, control, and monitoring systems
- Promote safety by ensuring overall safe equipment condition and operation through enforcement of industry and company standards, policies and procedures
