ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
The City of Woonsocket, RI is conducting a search for an Electrical Inspector. Working under the direction of the Director of Planning & Development and the Building Official, the person in this position will be responsible for reviewing, planning and approving electrical permits, as well as inspecting electric lights, heat and other power installations to ensure compliance with the Electrical Code. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following: providing information and recommending changes to proposed electrical installations and answering public inquires and complaints. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years of experience as an electrician is required. The number of years in college or trade school training in electrical engineering may be substituted for the number of years of electrician experience. Two (2) years of experience as a Master Electrician would be substantially equivalent to the applicant’s overall training and experience requirement. Must be currently licensed as a Master Electrician in the State of Rhode Island.
