Overview:
Electrical Technology Program Director/Professor: Provides instruction and training related to the installation of electrical wiring and systems, hands-on electrical field experiences, and related electrical theoretical applications. Assists in the development and modification of curriculum as necessary; assists in the strategic planning for the Industrial Technology Department. Instructs in a variety of settings and formats, including dual credit, online, hybrids, and occasionally weekends/evenings. The Grayson College Electrical Technology program is located on the South Campus in Van Alstyne and offers two levels of certificates leading to an A.A.S. degree.
The salary for this position is based on the Grayson College 2022-2023 Faculty Salary Scale, 22-23 Faculty Salary Scale

- 55% Teaches at least 15 SCHS (load hours) of basic and advanced electrical courses courses per long semester (Fall/Spring) to include safety, electrical theory, electrical applications, electronic basics, control basics, programmable logic
controls, direct digital controls, National Electrical Code, Motors and Controls, and Power Generation and Distribution; meets classes as assigned and provides assistance to students outside of class. - 25% Works as team member in the Industrial Technology Department; develops and implements a program of instruction that meets the needs of the students as well as area businesses; adheres to national/state regulations; teaches to the needs of the power generation, environmental, electrical, and wind industries; complies with the ‘faculty responsibilities’ as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the College’s Policy and Procedure Manual; develops and updates curriculum and measure student learning outcomes as needed to meet THECB Exemplary Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
- 15% Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements. Participates in College committees. Assists in
registration, advisement, and recruiting of students. - 5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous successful experience teaching in a high school, university and/or community college.

Education: A.A.S. degree in Electrical Technology or satisfactory completion of Trade School, or minimum of five years of related work in the electrical field and current Master Electrician license.

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success. Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities. Cooperative attitude and excellent team skills.

Other Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments. Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans. Excellent computer and multimedia skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, etc.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office and/or electrical lab setting.
