Job description
Pay Range: $38-$40 per hour.
Job Purpose: Safely and effectively plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
- Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects or the need for adjustment or repair.
- Knowledge of VFD’s and PLC’s
- Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolds or roofs to install maintain or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
- Advise management on weather operation of equipment is safe.
- Maintain license and certification needed to meet government regulations.
- Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls or other concealed areas and pull wires to complete circuits between boxes.
- Some basic boiler knowledge.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures using hand or power tools.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment.
- Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
- Construct and fabricate parts.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving heavy objects.
- Provide assistance during emergencies.
- Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
- Follow department and company procedures
- Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
