Employee Health & Benefits Service Manager (MMA Bouchard)
Job description
We are looking for an Employee Health & Benefits Service Manager to oversee and support our Benefits Service Team across the Bouchard Region of Marsh McLennan Agency! You will be responsible for supervisory aspects of EH&B Service team.
Duties include:
- Supervising EH&B Account Managers for all offices in Bouchard Region.
- Assigning responsibilities to Account Managers.
- Monitoring quality and quantity of work.
- See that policies and goals set by corporate officers are observed and carried out.
- Support new business sales/sales strategy and business retention efforts resulting in a sustained competitive advantage and increased revenue and profit growth company wide.
- Work with internal recruiter to interview and hire new team members as needed.
- Act as an advocate of the entire organization, promoting all its services and capabilities to continue to build a reputation as a premier leading insurance broker and consultant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform management functions for all account managers assigned to the EH&B Department in all offices for the Bouchard Region.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor workload among service staff and ensure appropriate distribution and coverage during absence of personnel.
- Act as a resource for EH&B questions.
- Coordinate benefit information such as company changes and/or legal updates for dissemination to division personnel.
- Assist clients directly with service issues escalated by the Account Management team
- Develop workflow and procedures to ensure high quality service and compliance to agency standards.
- Ensure efficiency through process improvement and communication of policies & procedures.
- Develop and implement appropriate business retention strategies, practices and processes focused on existing key accounts and building strong client relationships and partnerships.
- Perform quality control functions, including file audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and processes.
- Determining and carrying out necessary terminations.
- Assist training account management staff and orientation training for new employees.
- Assist in building a productive and knowledgeable sales team by supporting sales objectives. Monitor sales results and develop service staff through mentoring and coaching and appraising job results.
- Stay current on trends and developments in the insurance industry and the competition to identify new market opportunities and understand future product offerings that the company could develop to service a larger, growing client base.
- Represent the organization as a progressive leader in the industry in order to capitalize the company position, image and revenue potential.
- Perform related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- College degree preferred or combination of experience and continuing insurance education.
- 5 years Employee Health & Benefits experience; 2 years management/supervisory experience.
- 215 Life & Health license or willingness to obtain.
- In-depth Employee Health & Benefits insurance knowledge.
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with agency management systems.
- Knowledge of ERISA, ACA and Cobra compliance for fully-insured and self-funded plans.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; detail oriented; self-starter.
- Ability to perform general management responsibilities including directing and overseeing work duties of staff while promoting strong team cohesion and culture.
- Ability to build internal/external relationships and develop long-term strategic relationships. Strong client service orientation, highly responsive.
- Leadership dynamics with the ability to share a vision, provide direction, build a strong team, implement change and motivate others to succeed.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to train personnel on automation requirements and conduct file audits.
- Ability to respond to technical questions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to facilitate interaction among producers, division personnel and service staff.
