The Employer Relations Manager identifies, develops and maintains client relationships with industry in support of Professional Education business development goals and objectives. This position is responsible for the creation of training solutions for corporate non-credit programs, including pricing, content and measurement. Leads the formulation, implementation, and sustainment of Technology & Leadership Center training programs.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Generates leads, open and maintain lines of communication with companies. Represents TLC in client discussions, engagement, and account management.
- Manages activities to arrange and hold business development meetings targeting specific areas of service for potential and existing clients.
- Maintains client relationships with a focus on satisfaction and the identification of new training opportunities.
- In consultation with potential and existing clients, translates business challenges into training solutions.
- Prepares training program proposals and sells training programs to potential and existing clients.
- Manages one staff member. Determines regular work procedures and assignment of tasks and cross training among the staff to guarantee high quality and responsive customer service from TLC.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three-five years of business development experience, preferably in consulting and/or higher education.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
- Background in corporate learning/training.
- Working knowledge of IT terminology, concepts, and industry trends.
- Experience implementing and/or using registration systems and/or CRM systems.
- Experience in a decision-making role.
- Masters of Business Administration.
- Must be able to manage training development projects from inception to implementation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and possess excellent organizational and project management skills; flexibility and a high degree of tolerance for ambiguity and change are important; detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong business acumen.
- Detailed knowledge of learning and development principles and best practices.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of authority within client organizations.
- The desire to work on a team with creative people who design how systems work best is an essential element of the position.
- Proven account management skills, supervisory skills, and effective written communication are key. Candidate must be able to take direction, and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility required to excel in an industry undergoing continuous change.
- Must be flexible in thinking and open to new ideas in workflow and system design.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to influence others.
- Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member and requires the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external clients, including staff, management, and to communicate effectively with diplomacy and tact.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- The Employer Relations Manager will have extensive interaction with students, training instructors, local business/civic leaders of St. Louis. Pleasant and good interpersonal skills are required for effective interactions with many types of clients, instructors, Professional Education staff, and University personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience.
- Based on department criteria, prior experience in a specific area may be required.

G13Salary Range
$63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Accommodation
