A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST

This position works Monday - Friday during daytime hours.

As an Employment Specialist at our human services nonprofit, your job is all about building trust with program participants and figuring out what makes them tick - their strengths, interests, and capabilities. It's like being a matchmaker, but for jobs! You create a Family Contract Amendment (FCA) to help them reach their employment goals, both short and long-term.

And, you're not just a one-and-done kind of person - you meet with participants every month to see how they're progressing and help them stay on track. And if they ever miss an appointment, no sweat - you're quick to reschedule.

You're also a bit of a superhero in vocational rehabilitation because you make sure your participants have access to all the support they need by requesting services from external providers. You use data from our fancy FedcapCARES program to plan out your tasks and make sure everything is running smoothly.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST?

• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience
• Demonstrated track record for providing exceptional customer service
• Valid driver's license

Fluency in Arabic, Portuguese, Somali, French, or Lingala would be a plus! You'll also need to be detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
