Job description

What we do:

Good-2-Go Oregon is Central Oregon's premiere community-based support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are an agency that specializes in enabling independent life for adults who experience Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

The Employment program helps clients find and maintain careers within our community. We have placed clients across Central Oregon in a variety of different professions. This program enables client success through effective job placements that match their skills (Job Developer) and at-work assistance (Job Coach).

What you will do:

Job Coaches meet clients at their place of work and have 3 primary goals:

1) When a client first starts at a new position, the Job Coach accompanies them to their training, establishes communication with coworkers/supervisors, and often accompanies when they are working to help assure they are learning their new role.

2) After clients establish themselves, the Job Coach "fades" and only appears for the part of the client's shift where they most need help.

3) Finally, when a client gains independence, Job Coaches can fully fade and only provide occasional supports. This may include calling clients to ask how they are doing or helping a client communicate with a manager.

A typical day varies based on the client supported but generally includes:

  • Assisting clients with communication
  • Reminding clients how to complete certain tasks
  • Observing clients at their place of work
  • Directly assisting clients (only when needed)

A Strong Candidate:

  • Possesses professional verbal and written communication skills,
