Propane Service Technician

Position Overview:

This position will assist in the growth of our Service Division including generators, LB White heaters sales & service in addition to assisting our in-house electrician in the day-to-day activities.

This position will require cross‐functional knowledge of each area including electrical, generators, and heaters. Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in multi‐tasking, and the ability to work well with customers and our employee team are essential in this role.

Duties include:

  • Assisting the propane service team with installation of propane tanks, regulator switch-outs, and leak checks.
  • Employee will need to understand pipe fitting which includes threading pipe and cutting pipe.
  • Generator installations and service calls – this includes the electrical work for completing the hook ups.
  • LB White heater sales & service – this includes the ability to trouble shoot existing customer heaters as well as installation of new heaters.
  • In depth knowledge of electrical industry is a large part of this position – this employee must have the ability to read schematic drawings, rough in conduit, landing wire and troubleshooting electrical circuits. This employee will need to be able to take direction and have initiative in job completions.
  • Assist and handle customer service calls.
  • Provide clear communications, written and verbal.
  • Record keeping with strong attention to detail is needed for service documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain CETP Certifications
  • Ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
  • Ability to obtain Air Cooled Generac and Kohler Certificates
  • Experience with software tools including Microsoft Office and equipment including multi-meters, conduit benders, and line locators.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the electrical field in the commercial industry and an electrical certificate or ability to earn certificate within 6-month timeframe.
  • Experience and strong ability in reading schematic drawings.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi‐task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
