Job overview:

The Energy Specialist will complete assessments through an in-home audit by verifying the eligibility of the California Public Utilities customer base. By following the structural guidelines established by the Energy Saving Assistance Program (ESAP). The Energy Specialist is expected to canvass or telemarket to find potential customers that meet program guidelines and attend appointments scheduled by the MGM Energy Call Center. Our Energy Specialist should have the ability to provide outstanding customer services and good communication skills.

Reports to:

  • The Energy Specialist reports to Program Administrator and Office Manager

The Position:

We’re looking for an Energy Specialist. This is a commission-based position ranging on average between $45,000-$60,000 per year.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Successful complete certification training or any other required training
  • Perform outreach for the company’s home improvement and weatherization programs
  • Ensure enrollments are summited by the expected time
  • Report to schedule appointments on time and prepared
  • Canvass door to door or telemarked to find potential customers
  • Identify and document customer eligibility according to program guidelines
  • Conduct structural in-home assessments at customer’s homes, apartments, and mobile homes
  • Provide energy education and energy conservation tips to customers as required by program guidelines
  • Maintain accurate customer records, files, forms, and paperwork
  • Stay updated on program requirements and standards
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers, staff, and utility company representatives
  • Participate in the routine meeting, workshops, and training as directed by the Program Administrator
  • Responsible for the excellent image of the company while on company time
  • Responsible for performing other duties/tasks assigned by the Program Administrator

Requirements:

  • Must have an active California Driver’s License
  • Must have an active Home Improvement Sales License
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • 2 years minimum experience with the Energy Savings Assistance Program
