Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Control Technician C to join our team in Everett, WA.
Technicians in this job work from specifications, technical orders, and written/verbal instructions to receive, inspect, kit, dispense, deliver, and maintain an inventory of chemicals and supplies.
Position Responsibilities:
Employees will collect records and reports on hazardous materials (Haz-Mat) for regulatory compliance.
These employees will maintain control of time/temperature sensitive Haz-Mat in accordance with Quality requirements.
Issue or deliver chemicals and supplies to control points/points of use (e.g., airplane on ground (AOG), flightline, shop) and enter material data information into on-line computer system manually or through computerized bar code scanner.
Receive/collect hazardous material/waste from appropriate area (e.g., shop, tank lines, tank cars), in accordance with applicable regulations and Boeing standards.
Sort, divide and consolidate incompatible/undetermined hazardous waste (e.g., corrosives, acids, flammables) for waste disposal, using appropriate equipment (e.g., press, bailer, compactor), as required.
Operate manual/automated-dispensing equipment to fill/refill containers (e.g., pint, gallon, 5 gallon) with appropriate chemicals (e.g., acetone, isopropyl alcohol), as required.
Monitor time/temperature sensitive (TATS) materials.
Rotate stock, as required. Dispose of out-of-compliance material per environmental engineer's designation, Boeing specifications and various codes.
Tie-in with other shifts, as required. Store hazardous materials and supplies in an appropriate manner and in designated areas per procedures and specifications. Monitor for visible degradation (e.g., crystallization, cloudy, separated), as required.
Containerize hazardous waste and label drums and products, as required. Band drums and palletizes waste, per appropriate specifications and codes, as required.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., electric stackers, fork lifts, overhead cranes) to move material and supplies. Prepare and maintain accurate records on regulatory inspections for environmental reporting (e.g., local, state, federal, Boeing audits), accumulation station data and other information, as required.
Serve as a chemical information resource for area supported by technician, including material safety data sheet (MSDS), chemical information, Hazard Communication, chemical and hazardous waste reduction programs.
Maintain personal certifications, as required. Contact co-workers, lead or supervisor when assistance is needed and/or when there are questions on process or job related issues.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
1+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
Current valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience executing data entry, retrieval and inventory management
1+ years of experience operating a Forklift
Typical Education:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
Relocation:
This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift:
This position is for 1st shift.

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
Summary pay range: $18.00 - $40.43
