Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a self-motivated, Environmental Field Technician to support our East Windsor, Fair Lawn, or Hillsboro NJ office’s growing environmental project portfolio. This position consists of 100% field work, with local travel to and from job sites, with some office support. This position requires a hard-working, safe, efficient and dedicated employee that is excited to receive on the job training, working with a team, and able to work independently once trained. It will require work both independently and with other team members and may require periodic overtime and periodic non-local travel. This position offers an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of environmental projects and work with a great team.

Role accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Groundwater Monitoring Well Sampling
  • Soil Sampling
  • Remediation Injections
  • Community Air Monitoring
  • Subcontractor Oversight
  • Site Visits and Documentation

In order to succeed in various professional settings, it is important to possess a range of skills and abilities. One key area is effective communication, both in written and verbal forms, as well as the ability to accurately document field notes.

Another essential component is practicing safe driving habits, which includes maintaining a valid driver’s license and adhering to traffic laws and regulations. This not only ensures personal safety but also reflects a level of responsibility and professionalism.

Finally, it is important to communicate safely with colleagues and take direction as needed to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively. Being receptive to feedback and guidance can lead to better outcomes and foster positive working relationships. All of these skills combined can contribute to a successful and fulfilling career.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-4 years’ experience
  • High School Degree, 2 to 4-year degrees in the Sciences a plus
  • Safe Driver with License
  • MS-Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills
  • 2-4 years of previous experience as an Environmental Field Technician and College Degree
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training
  • Environmental Remediation experience
  • Experience with maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of environmental remediation systems
  • Experience with contractor oversight a plus
