Environmental Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Technician – Santa Maria or San Luis Obispo, CA

Trihydro, one of the top environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country, has an opening for an environmental operation and maintenance (O&M) technician. You will join our Closed Facilities Team and assist with providing Trihydro’s clients and customers with effective, responsive, and safe solutions. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, an eye for detail, and enjoy working in the field, we encourage you to apply.

In this role, you will support remediation system O&M, including troubleshooting and repairs, system monitoring and data collection, maintenance on pumps, and system evaluation and optimization. Duties also include soil gas monitoring, groundwater fluid level monitoring, groundwater/sediment/soil sampling, irrigation system/BMP maintenance, assisting project managers and client representatives with fieldwork coordination, and health and safety oversight. Mechanical, electrical, and or plumbing background preferred. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

The preferred candidate will be based in Santa Maria or San Luis Obispo, CA.

Our team is looking for someone who has:

  • A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and accuracy, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables

  • Employment history within an industrial setting, or a related field, with an emphasis on working with hands and using tools

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing maintenance on compressors and other industrial equipment

  • Experience performing maintenance on compressors and other industrial equipment

  • A clean driving record

  • A safety-oriented work ethic

This position requires the following:

  • Written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and project team members

  • Leadership skills to manage field events and subcontractors

  • Time management skills to ensure on-time completion of project deliverables

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • A proven commitment to safe work practices

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting

  • Adaptability to working outdoors in diverse weather conditions
