RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Patrol and monitor assigned area
• Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.
• Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner
• Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors
• Identify, report, or delay persons who violate rules and regulations
• Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols
• Be fully familiar with building layout, floor plans, manual fire alarm locations, fire extinguisher locations, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) locations, emergency routes, and evacuation assembly points.
• Perform other duties as assigned by George Washington University Police Department

Job Type: Part-time

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Event Officer must be available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Valid DC SPO/SO License
• Valid CPR/FA/AED Certification
• Fully Vaccinated
• Minimum 2 years of Customer Service experience
• Minimum 2 years of Security experience
• Ability to work with confidential and classified information

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
• Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, and sitting.

Experience:

• Security: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
