K.A. Witt Construction has a full-time opening for a construction and excavation laborer.

K.A. Witt Construction is a general contractor specializing in custom home building and excavation services. K.A. Witt Construction’s area of operation includes the south metro and surrounding areas. K.A. Witt Construction builds homes from top to bottom, handling each step from design to finish work. K.A. Witt Construction’s in-house services include design, engineering, site work, basement digging, utility installation, framing, concrete flatwork, and interior finish work.

In addition to home building, K.A. Witt Construction’s excavation team tackles jobs including expansive site work projects, residential, industrial, commercial, and park development, septic system installation, street and road work, utilities installation and service work, sports surfaces/facilities, demolition, and much more. K.A. Witt Construction is looking for a candidate to join our team as an excavation laborer.

Responsibilities:

· Work closely with job foreman, project manager, and equipment operators to support daily execution of plans

· Perform labor tasks, including shoveling, sweeping, compacting, pipe installation, etc. on excavation projects such as utility installation, road construction, home building, and site grading

· Organization of construction tools and materials

· Operation of light and heavy equipment

· Move between excavation crews as needed

· Upkeep of vehicles and equipment to include fueling, washing, greasing, and preventative maintenance

· Comply with all local, state, and national proper construction and safety practices

Other Features:

· Work concentrated to week days

· Home base in New Prague, MN where we begin most mornings and end most day

· Opportunities for advancement into an equipment operation role (skill and experience dependent)

· Ample overtime opportunities

Qualifications:

· Valid MN driver’s license and clean driving record required

· Prior construction industry experience is preferred

· Equipment operation experience preferred

· Able to lift 50+ pounds on a semi-daily basis

· Ability to work long hours

· Punctuality, dependability, and a good attitude are very appreciated here

Education:

· High school diploma or GED equivalent

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
