Johnny's Italian Steakhouse is looking for an Executive Chef with the exciting opportunity to use their experience and skills to develop and build out our kitchen. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining Quality, Consistency, Passion, Responsibility and Community for all BOH needs.
- Create and oversee all BOH duties; including but not limited to staffing, sop’s, training, conducting reviews.
- Ensures we maintain a high level of hospitality and collaborates with the FOH staff to take care of our guests.
- Create and maintains budget needs for kitchen.
- Guide communication from other departments.
- Scheduling for BOH including adjust/confirm staff hours.
- Ensures that we are always serving safe food by adhering to ServeSafe food handling standards.
- Oversee the maintenance/cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Create a positive work environment for all team members and guests.
- Accountable for maintaining the sanitation, maintenance and organization of the kitchen and any other BOH areas.
- Works with key BOH vendors and food suppliers to ensure high quality, responsibly sourced product.
- Provide and maintain a safe and secure working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Previous restaurant experience with high quality standards.
- Previous management experience; comfortable training, directing and supervising staff.
- Passion for foods.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local food handling regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move heavy items.
- Ability to work unusual hours, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
