Job description

GMG Services Facility Management is is hiring a handyman with a minimum of 3 years of experience to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior/exterior at multiple client sites (Maple Grove, Champlin, Becker, Plymouth, Burnsville, Woodbury and Hudson. Our buildings are predominantly daycare and community centers.

We will rely on you to keep the facilities in excellent condition by doing various odd jobs. Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, drywall, painting is essential. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills and can clean up after yourself. We are looking for someone that can not only do the work, but also that likes to be "part of the solution" and enjoys suggesting ways to solve problems.

The successful applicant must have his own tools. Work will alternate between sites throughout the week. We provide a fully maintained company van for business use.

GMG Services will provide a fully-maintained van for business use.

Responsibilities

• Occasional cleaning duties (cleaning up after yourself)
• Perform maintenance and light repairs
• Perform interior and exterior work to buildings (repair windows, walls, doors, fixtures)
• Drywall - repair as necessary, paint, fill gaps, etc.
• Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. repair cabinets, dorrs and door frames, etc.)
• Basic plumbing repairs (install sinks, repair leaky faucets, under-sink traps, snaking drains, etc.)
• Change light globes, ballasts, outlets and light switches.
• Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
• Identify and report the need for major repairs

Skills & Requirements

• Able to use a mobile phone to access maintenance & time-keeping apps
• MUST have own tools, adequate to perform the tasks set out in "Responsibilities"
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as handyman
• Experience using tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
• Attention to detail
• Due to security levels demanded by our client, the applicant must be willing to submit to, and pass a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
