This position is 6pm-6am 12 hour shift, rotating weekends.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position will be hands-on training in all aspects of operating blown film and extrusion machinery. The position requires commitment to good housekeeping, safety policies, quality, production guidelines, quality importance and troubleshooting.
II. QUALIFICATIONS
· High school Diploma or GED
· Basis computer knowledge
· Experience driving a forklift truck preferred
· Mechanical aptitude
· Oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated proficiency at extrusion operator level
III. TRAINING
· Internal Annual Safety Training
· AS400
· Successfully completed or on-the-job safety training
IV. SQF RESPONSIBILITY
· Ensure GMP are exerted throughout the production process
· Ensure production process follows SQF Code

VI. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. JOB TASK & DUTIES
- Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of mechanical skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
- To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
- Learn how to set and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Learning and understanding the importance of Health and safety within the workspace.
- Work together with the Extrusion Technician A to become familiar with standard operating procedures, quality procedures, and operator training to meet productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste
- Performs equipment cleaning preparation while line is down
- To maintain and to ensure general good housekeeping of the workplace.
- Ensure that proper materials are being used in accordance with procedures
- Properly maintain and care for equipment.
- Notify Extrusion Technician A of any maintenance issues requiring immediate attention
- Ensure that lines are kept clean and orderly, complying with daily housekeeping requirements checklists.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Sr Lead Extrusion Technician.
- Comply with Plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices

C. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
A. Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
B. Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
C. Stooping, bending the body downward and forward by bending spine and waist.
Example: Changing paper in printer, copier machine.
D. Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on the knee or knees.
E. Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.

DEGREE OF LIFTING: 5-25 lbs. 26-50 lbs.
M. Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
N. Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
O. Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
P. Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
Q. Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40-dB loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
R. Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Example: Filing, sorting mail, starting ignition of machinery.
D. VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Keep in mind that color, depth perception and field of vision is pertinent to requirements.
A. Machine operation, inspection, and close assembly, clerical and administrative duties.
Example: Preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, data entry, CRT exposure, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, using measurement devices or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
B. Machine operation and skilled trades; use of power tools to see where a job is at, or within, arms reach.
C. Mobile equipment operations; operate fork lifts, and high lift equipment if trained and certified.
D. Other criteria based on accuracy and neatness of work.
Example: Cleaning personnel, sweepers, janitors, cooks.
E. Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth and perception.
E. WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION
A. Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
B. Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
C. Inside and outside environments apply.
D. Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
E. Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
F. Subject to noise, causing reason to shout to be heard above the noise level.
G. Subject to vibration, exposure, fluctuating movement of the body.
H. Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
I. Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.
J. Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
